Tesla Terafactory Texas Update #116 in 4K: Giga Press Structural Framing - 03/03/21 (5:00pm | 75°F)

Welcome back everyone, it’s Randy! Today was an extremely busy day at the site with more significant things to see that I could fit in the title! We have some amazing looks at new developments with the Giga Press and there is clearly a new sense of urgency with the work taking place in the northwest corner given the blistering pace we’re seeing things get done in this specific area.

Here are today’s key takeaways:
- At the north end, we see more digging that has taken place in order to run more water lines to the building. We can even see work with plumbing taking place on the ground floor.
- In the northeast corner, the tarp has been removed and we can see some major work taking place on and around the Giga Press! Structural steel framing is going up around it that will serve a variety of purposes. We can see stairs to one side and large panels below workers atop the steel. This could possibly be a control room or maintenance access area. There are even workers inside of the Giga Press working as you can see their reflective vests. Towards the end of the video, I come around from the other side and we see even more equipment being set up in the form of massive chillers.
- The south end shows more progress with the wall panel installation taking place on the east facing and the angled sides. We see smaller sections that will be used to fill the areas on each side of the large access doors, basically running from the concrete column to the smaller steel ones they recently set up around the structure. The angled panels even have the first cutout for a normal sized door on the entire site.
- The southwest area has new activity with the laying of another large water line pipe running through a portion of the large detention pond.
- Back inside the structure south of the GigaPress, we see that they have poured concrete in the large area that was covered with rebar and are in the process of actively pouring concrete in the line on the right that was recently extended.
- The gap between the structures on the west side is closing faster than I anticipated. I mentioned 1 to 2 weeks in my video two days ago and now they just have 2 rows of columns to erect before they can then connect them with the crossbeams!
- In the northwestern corner, the speed in which they are moving is staggering. They are filling footings less than a day after digging them and we’re used to seeing them sit for maybe at least a week before they get concrete. We also see a huge new area being dug out here as well so we’ll keep a watch on this to see what comes of it!
