TAMIZ House | Light, Concrete, and Nature in Perfect Balance

Simplicity and materiality in harmony with the landscape.

TAMIZ House redefines the relationship between architecture, light, and nature. Designed by Gonzalo Bardach Arquitectura, the project explores light as a material — transforming spaces throughout the day, as sunlight filters, reflects, and breathes life into every corner.

Conceived as two sculptural concrete volumes, the house is perforated front and back to bring natural light and views deep into the home, while its sides remain closed for privacy. The front façade acts as a sieve, softening light and creating intimacy. Toward the back, large openings frame the main garden, merging architecture and landscape.

The central void — home to a floating staircase and landscaped patios — becomes the heart of the house, blurring boundaries between inside and out. Throughout the day, a play of chiaroscuro transforms the interiors, creating moments of calm and reflection.

TAMIZ House is built with pure, low-maintenance materials — concrete, wood, iron, and glass — chosen for their honesty, texture, and longevity. The design also integrates sustainability principles:
- "Passive design with natural ventilation and cross lighting."
- "Green roof with native vegetation to absorb CO₂ and regulate temperature."
- "Solar panels powering both energy and HVAC systems."

The home is a sculpture of liquid stone, inspired by the works of Eduardo Chillida, where simplicity and material truth become poetic.
