Flames were reported inside a St. George apartment unit Wednesday, displacing residents and prompting an emergency response that kept the fire from spreading beyond a single unit.
“We had a structure fire inside a residence where one of the ventilation fans in one of the bedrooms overheated, went into the attic space and got into some of that space over two of the bedrooms,” said Brett Remund, fire marshal with the city of St. George and the St. George Fire Department.
The fire started in an apartment building near Indian Hills Drive, Remund said. The fire was successfully contained to a single apartment and did not spread to any surrounding units, preventing what could have been a much larger incident. Written by Jessi Bang Jul 9, 2025
