In 2020, ComEd’s Emerging Technology team supported the installation of SmartValves at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. This project retrofitted standard 2-Way pressure dependent chilled water valves with FlowEnergy pressure independent SmartValves. This session will provide an overview of many project aspects including: business drivers, project overview; technology overview, focus, and approach; valve installation (during cooling season); energy saving and calculation methodology (savings include chillers and primary, secondary, and tertiary pumps); lessons learned; and the owners perspective. This session covers Phase 1 of the project (E-Wing).
