Welcome to the top four things you need to know, before buying a Toto Neorest RH bidet toilet. I'm Daniel Johnson and I'm the owner of manybidets.com. Where we've sold over 10 000 bidets, over the last eight years.

While the Toto Neorest RH is a fantastic unit; there are a few things that you need to know before you go into the process of buying one to make sure that you're set.

The first thing you need to know about the Toto Neorest RH, is that it is a little bit on the large side. From the back wall, to the front of the toilet it is 27 and an eighth of an inch. This may be similar to your existing toilet, or probably pretty likely it might be a little bit larger. In a lot of bathrooms that's not a problem. If you have a very tight space, you'll want to take some measurements up front. To make sure that it doesn't get in the way of anything, including the door shutting to the bathroom possibly even.

Things your plumber needs to know, before you buy the Toto Neorest RH. Because of its sleek design, the Toto Neorest RH has some special requirements regarding the positioning of the water supply. If properly positioned, the water supply will be hidden inside the base of the toilet. If improperly positioned, it may conflict with the toilet and need to be moved, or it may be outside of the toilet space altogether. If you want the Toto Neorest RH to look as sleek as possible, you'll want to make sure that the water supply line is four and a half inches off the center of the drain hole, where the toilet will be mounted. Now, if it's not four and a half inches off, you'll want to talk with your plumber and make sure that it can be moved to that position. Now that four and a half inches is true, regardless of whether or not the water supply is in the floor or on the wall.

If it's on the wall, you'll want to make sure that along with being four and a half inches off center, that is also 6 7/8 inches up. Now there's a little bit of wiggle room, left to right and up to down. You're looking at about a quarter inch wiggle room. You're looking at a quarter inch up or down, so a half inch total diameter of that “wiggle room”.

If your water supply is on the floor, the four and a half inches off center still applies. From the wall, you'll want your water supply 2 3/8 of an inch forward. Again, the same wiggle room applies, a quarter inch plus or minus in any of the four directions is still safe. That 2 3/8 inch measurement, is from the wall itself, without taking into account the molding. You'll also need to make sure that you have a 12 inch rough-in. Your plumber will know how to check a rough-in. In general, it's the distance from the center of the drain hole, to the back wall, without taking into account molding. Twelve inches is standard, so you're probably in decent shape there, but it's still something worth measuring. Your plumber also needs to know that they will need to drill into the floor to mount the toilet.

Things your electrician needs to know. You do need an electrical outlet, to make the Toto Neorest RH work. That being said, it is a standard three prong outlet. Top pull on the Toto Neorest RH is about 13 amps, so we recommend a 15 amp dedicated line, or if you're able a 20 amp dedicated line. From time to time, we see customers get away without a dedicated line, if there's nothing else large on the circuit and it's a 20 amp. If the electrician is able, a dedicated line, with a GFCI outlet is preferred. This unit also comes with a four foot cord. The outlet needs to be pretty close to the toilet, but needs to be off to the side, one side or the other, as the toilet sits very close to the wall.
