All of the instruments we work with are made in Germany and use very high-quality parts. We've seen many of these little compression fittings corrode through when users fill their water chillers with deionized water though. Even under the worst conditions, this takes decades, but with some of these systems still going strong at 40 years old, we're not going to allow some minor part like this to side-line a critical piece of instrumentation.
These don't seem to be readily available in the US so today I fired up the Haas TL-1 to make some.
This is one of those parts I really like to replace at the first sign of wear and there are usually several in the same circuit which have all had the same amount of the same water flowing through them for the same amount of time. It stands to reason that if one is ready for replacement, they all should be. Having a limitless stock of these makes it much cheaper and easier to keep these machines running!
