Welcome back to the channel on today’s video. I’ve been called out to a customer’s house because they have a leak coming through the ceiling and straight above it is a shower room. Upon first inspection, it’s always good to give the shower cubicle a good visual of all the sealant and silicon as most leaks come from here.
The shower is only leaking when it’s being used so that will tell me that it’s either a problem with the waste pipe or the sealant inside the cubicle. The most non invasive approach would be to remove order silicon and start again. This will give me a clear vision of how the shower tray has been installed as the customer told me that it was put in after the wet room had failed.
Because I don’t know what the substrate is like underneath the shower trade does have a slight bit of flex the walls don’t seem too bad so the plan of attack is to cut all the silicon out and replace using xpro stixseal! This sealant is not only a silicone but also a grab adhesive so this will set nice and strong and prevent the flex!
To help remove the old silicone I’ll be using xpro super solver which helps soften the old silicone making it easier to remove and using the profiling tools to get a nice crisp clean finish on the sealant! I hope you like today’s video, if you did then please give it a like, drop a comment down below and please sub if you are new!
