Mechanical Tips: Common Issue in Maintaining Chilled Water System | IK Academy - Go Technical

Chillers are among the most complex and energy-intensive pieces of equipment in institutional and commercial facilities. However, often chillers are operated or maintained inefficiently or ineffectively, resulting in higher energy costs, lower system performance and reliability, and decreased equipment life. IK Academy - Go Technical is glad to have the Senior Manager of Service Technical Support in Trane Malaysia to share with us his opinion on the biggest issue faced by the industry when operating and maintains chill water system.

Mr Wong studied Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in Ungku Omar Polytechnic Ipoh and is a Trane factory trained Service Engineer by profession. He joined Trane in 1989 as its first Service Engineer and is the pioneer in setting up the service department in Trane Malaysia. He has since held the positions of Technical Support and Training Manager, Service Operations Managers, and Senior Manager for Aftermarket Services and Technical Director for Trane Asia. He was also a member of the Trane Global Service Council for the centrifugal chiller factory in lacrosse as well as the helical rotary screw chiller factory in Pueblo, USA. He has more than 30 years of hands on experience in the servicing of air-conditioning equipment especially large tonnage water chillers. Besides Malaysia, he has also commissioned chillers, provided technical support and training on servicing of Trane air- conditioning equipment for countries in Asia.
