Introduced at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, the Malibu Relax marks a fresh direction for the brand’s campervan lineup. Built on the trusted Fiat Ducato chassis, this new model stretches 6.36 meters in length and 2.05 meters in width, with a gross weight of 3,500 kilograms, meaning it can be driven with a standard driver’s license. It’s powered by a reliable 2.2-liter diesel engine, offering a perfect balance between efficiency and performance. With a starting price of around £52,340 and topping out near £75,000 for the Exclusive version, the Relax caters to a wide range of travelers seeking luxury in a more compact package.

What makes the Malibu Relax stand out is its intelligent layout and sense of space. Malibu’s engineers reimagined the typical campervan interior, shortening the kitchen and shifting it backward to create an open flow from the entrance to the rear. The overhead cabinets were removed to increase interior height, and a new ultra-space-saving sectional washroom shutter was added in the Ergo bathroom. These design choices result in a wide, uncluttered living area with a clear line of sight from the cab to the rear beds, creating an illusion of a much larger space.

The entrance area is another highlight. Measuring roughly 92 centimeters wide, it feels unusually open for a van of this size. Malibu also borrowed the coupé-style cab extension from its larger Genius 641LE model, which raises headroom and extends the ceiling into the driver’s cab. This feature enhances the spacious feel of the front lounge area, where swiveling cab seats, a bench seat, and an extendable table provide a cozy yet functional space for dining or relaxing. Floor storage beneath this area adds practicality without cluttering the interior.

The unit includes a two-hob gas stove with an electric igniter, a flush-mounted sink, a 69-liter dual-sided compressor fridge, and three soft-close drawers with built-in organization. Across from the kitchen, the Ergo bathroom makes remarkable use of limited space, with a shower, toilet, basin, and integrated storage—all designed for maximum comfort and usability.

Sleeping arrangements are equally thoughtful. At the rear, twin single beds over two meters long can convert into a larger sleeping area using an additional cushion insert. Underneath, you’ll find ample storage, including large drawers and a wardrobe, with the bed frames lifting for easy access. Buyers looking for extra sleeping capacity can add an optional pop-up roof that provides two more berths, turning the Relax into a family-friendly camper.

Inside, Malibu has taken a minimalist yet premium approach to design. Light Modern Walnut cabinetry, soft-touch microfiber walls, and grey-flecked flooring create a cozy and sophisticated ambiance. Handleless cabinets and elegant accent lighting complete the contemporary aesthetic. The campervan features 18 LED spotlights and ambient light strips strategically placed throughout, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere after dark.
